Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Cyber Defense Analyst (3rd Shift) to join a mission-focused team supporting the Navy's cybersecurity environment at the ONI Hopper Global Communications Center (HGCC) in Suitland, MD. You will monitor alerts, investigate incidents, and engage in proactive threat hunting for TS/SCI networks.

You will apply CND discipline, SIEM/NIDPS experience, and scripting skills to analyze events, manage tickets, and brief stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Candidates should have experience in the CND discipline and monitor/investigate security alerts.
• Experience with SIEM systems (Splunk, Elastic) and NIDPS tools.
• Knowledge of scripting/coding languages and penetration testing tools is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform first line monitoring of security tools and analyze alerts for TS/SCI networks.
• Monitor cybersecurity tools for alerts, anomalies, and indicators of compromise.
• Investigate alerts and escalate to Tier 2 as needed; create/update incident tickets.
• Conduct proactive threat hunting to identify malicious activity and emerging threats.
• Perform wireless security scans and document findings.
• Correlate alerts across platforms to detect patterns and threats.
• Deliver operational and situational awareness briefings.
• Support annual cyber defense exercises.
