Job summary

KBR National Security Solutions seeks a Senior Cybersecurity Advisor to support a government customer in the Northern Virginia area. You will advise on cybersecurity strategy, governance and risk management to align with mission requirements.

Responsibilities include RMF/ATO activities, zero-trust guidance, incident response improvements, DevSecOps integration, and reporting metrics to leadership. A Top Secret/SCI clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret / SCI clearance.
• Experience advising executive leadership on cybersecurity strategy, governance and risk management.
• Experience with RMF, NIST CSF/800-53, zero-trust, IAM.
• Experience improving ATO processes and reciprocity.
• Experience developing security policies and implementation guidance.
• Master's/Bachelor's degree with related experience or equivalent.

KBR is seeking a highly qualified candidate to act as the Senior Cybersecurity Advisor to a government customer in the Northern Virginia area. The Cybersecurity Advisor assists the customer in cybersecurity strategy and governance by advising on priorities, policy updates, and governance actions to ensure they align with mission requirements.

Primary Responsibilities

• Supporting Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Authority to Operate (ATO) activities, reciprocity initiatives, and continuous monitoring strategies.
• Providing guidance on zero‑trust planning, identity, segmentation, encryption, and secure access patterns.
• Advising on incident response processes, vulnerability management, and security operations improvements.
• Integrating security into DevSecOps development pipelines and acquisition planning.
• Developing metrics, dashboards, and briefs for reporting to executive leadership.

Required Qualifications

• Current and active Top Secret / SCI security clearance.
• Experience advising executive leadership on cybersecurity strategy, governance and risk management for complex enterprises.
• Experience with security frameworks and concepts (e.g., RMF, NIST CSF/800-53, zero‑trust, identity and access management).
• Experience improving ATO processes and promoting reciprocity.
• Experience developing security policies/standards and implementation guidance.
• Required education / relevant experience: Master’s Degree or higher in Business or STEM and 6 years of experience, or Bachelor’s Degree in Business or STEM and 8 years of experience, or high school diploma and 12 years of experience.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience overseeing incident response planning, vulnerability management and security monitoring concepts.
• Experience integrating cybersecurity into acquisition and system engineering (security‑by‑design / DevSecOps).
• Experience briefing senior leaders and coordinating across multiple organizations.

Basic Compensation

$160,200 – $195,800 (This range is for Washington DC Metro Area Only).
