NDE Professionals, Inc. invites certified welding inspectors (CWI) to join our Portland-area inspection team. The role focuses on inspecting welds in structural, component, and piping contexts, ensuring code conformance and quality across projects.

You will review welding procedures, document findings, and communicate with project staff to resolve issues. NDT exposure may be provided to broaden skillsets and career growth.

Formación

• Active CWI required with 3+ years of hands-on welding inspection experience.
• Strong command of welding codes and standards (AWS D1.1, ASME, API).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding docs.

We have immediate openings for Certified Welding Inspectors (CWI) with NDT skills being a bonus but not a requirement. These openings are located in the Portland Metro area so we are looking for possible local candidates.

Candidate responsibilities include inspect structural, component, or piping welds to verify conformance with project codes, standards, and engineering drawings, perform pre-weld, in-process, and post-weld inspections, review and verify Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and welder performance qualifications. Candidate will also document inspection results clearly, compile daily quality reports, and manage non-conformance or repair logs using a computer and communicate directly with project managers, foremen, and engineers of record to resolve quality issues or disputed indications. Some nondestructive Testing (NDT) may be required and as applicable, NDT training/certification may be provided to add to skill set.

Skills

An active CWI is required with 3+ years of hands-on welding inspection experience in structural steel, industrial, or pressure vessel/pipeline environments preferred. A strong command of welding codes and standards (AWS D1.1, ASME, API, etc.) and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics. The ability to work in shop, industrial, or outdoor field conditions, climb stairs/scaffolding, work in tight spaces, and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be required. Must be a US citizen, be able to pass all pre-employment screening including a drug test.
