AmeriVet Veterinary Partners in Philadelphia seeks a skilled Veterinary Technician to support patient care and hospital workflows. You will obtain histories, restrain patients, draw blood, administer vaccines, assist with anesthesia and surgery, and maintain records while delivering compassionate client service.

Qualifications

• Current CVT, LVT, RVT, or equivalent veterinary technician credential.
• Minimum 2+ years of clinical veterinary experience as a veterinary technician.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to patient safety, compassionate care, and professionalism.

Responsabilités

• Obtain patient histories and assist with patient assessments.
• Safely restrain and handle patients using low-stress techniques.
• Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, sample collection, and in-house laboratory testing.
• Obtain diagnostic radiographs and assist with other diagnostic procedures.
• Administer medications, vaccines, injections, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
• Calculate medication dosages and fluid rates accurately.
• Monitor hospitalized patients and maintain accurate medical records.
• Prepare and monitor patients for anesthesia, surgery, and recovery.
• Assist with surgical and dental procedures, including dental radiographs and cleanings as appropriate.
• Maintain and properly care for medical, surgical, dental, and anesthesia equipment.
• Communicate veterinarian recommendations, medications, discharge instructions, and follow-up care to clients.
