Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a StaffFlex RN on a PRN Day shift in Shawnee Mission, Kansas. You will educate patients, administer meds, and assist physicians while supporting flexible assignments across facilities.

Eligible for travel within AdventHealth system, with guaranteed hours and potential to convert to permanent staff. Strong English, basic computer skills, and 2 years of acute care experience are required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patient, evaluate interventions, and revise plan of care according to patient outcomes.
• Basic computer skills – must be able to navigate Microsoft Windows-based programs.
• Must be fluent in English (read, verbal and written skills).
• Education: Associate.
• Work Experience: 2 years of nursing experience in an acute hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and families from admission to discharge, covering care plans, medications, tests, procedures, disease processes, and discharge instructions.
• Document education provided, including patient responses and outcomes.
• Initiate referrals to healthcare providers as needed.
• Deliver nursing care to patients in pain according to policy and ensure a safe care environment.
• Administer medications accurately as ordered.
• Respond to unit and hospital code situations.
• Assist physicians with bedside procedures.
• Manage patient admissions, transfers, and discharges professionally.

Job Description

• Provides safe, competent nursing care for patients requiring oxygen support.
• Assists physicians with bedside procedures.
• Manages patient admissions, transfers, and discharges professionally.
• Verifies and signs off physician orders and obtains lab specimens as ordered.
• Evaluates the nursing care plan to ensure safe, competent care delivery.
• Other duties as assigned.
