Job summary

Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC, is seeking a CVOR Registered Nurse PRN to join a fast-paced operating room. The role involves weekend/holiday call, self-scheduling four weeks in advance, and collaboration with a skilled surgical team. The CVOR handles Open-Heart and Thoracic procedures with a focus on patient safety and efficiency.

Required: 1+ year CVOR experience, RN license in NC with BLS/ACLS. PRN schedule offers 2–6 shifts per pay period with on-call during certain hours.

Qualifications

• Required Experience: 1+ years of CVOR nursing experience.
• Required Education: Associates Degree in Nursing.
• Preferred Education: Master's in Nursing.
• Preferred Certification: National Certification in area of specialty
• Required License: Must have and maintain current licensure as registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. eNLC license may apply, licensee should confirm with NCBON
• Required Certification: BLS and ACLS

Responsibilities

• Self scheduling posted four weeks in advance for predictable planning.
• Culture of mutual respect and collaboration among all surgical staff.
• Continuous investment in equipment including instruments, devices and patient positioning for safety and workflow.
• Rounding with unit leaders, including charge nurses, to ensure voices are heard on patient care.
• On-call is required during select non-business hours
