Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake is hiring a Registered Nurse for Open Heart Surgery CVOR to support perioperative care in a high-volume surgical services environment. The role emphasizes aseptic technique, patient assessment, and collaboration with the perioperative team.

The RN will ensure proper timeouts, prep areas, and safe patient care through teamwork and clinical expertise in a Level II trauma center setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing is required. BSN preferred.
• Current Registered Nurse License in Texas or Multi-State Compact; must obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire.
• Current BLS and ACLS Certification are required.
• CNOR is preferred.
• 1 year CVOR experience as a licensed RN in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Understand aseptic technique and maintain a sterile field while assisting in procedures or prepping a patient for surgery.
• Demonstrate knowledge of prep areas for different kinds of procedures.
• Assess the patient prior to surgery and confirm they understand the procedure, with a timeout performed with the perioperative team.
• Demonstrate teamwork, adaptability, and serve as a resource to Surgical Services.
• Deliver quality nursing care and promote a positive image of nursing.
