Position Overview
The CVOR Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care to cardiovascular surgical patients.
The ideal candidate will have strong CVOR experience, excellent knowledge of sterile technique, and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary surgical team.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a high standard of aseptic technique and ensure maintenance of the sterile field.
- Assist with cardiovascular surgical procedures and patient preparation.
- Demonstrate knowledge of appropriate surgical site preparation for different procedures.
- Assess patients prior to surgery and identify relevant clinical needs.
- Confirm that patients understand the planned procedure as appropriate.
- Participate in and ensure completion of the required surgical time-out with the perioperative team.
- Provide safe, efficient, and compassionate nursing care throughout the perioperative process.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, nurses, and other members of the Surgical Services team.
- Demonstrate teamwork, flexibility, adaptability, and professionalism.
- Serve as a clinical resource to the Surgical Services team.
- Promote patient safety and quality outcomes.
- Maintain accountability for delivering high-quality nursing care.
- Represent the nursing profession and organization positively and professionally.

Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
- BSN preferred.
- Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Texas OR a valid Multi-State Compact RN License.
- Nurses practicing under a Compact RN license must obtain a Texas RN license within 90 days of hire.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Current ACLS certification required.
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse in a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) required.
- CNOR certification preferred.
