Job summary

Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, VA seeks a Registered Nurse for the Cardiovascular Surgery OR (CVOR). You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients of all ages, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to optimize outcomes.

The role requires Virginia RN licensure or eligibility, BLS-HCP, and EPIC EMR proficiency, with responsibilities spanning care coordination, education, and performance improvement.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program eligible to sit for Virginia RN licensure.
• Licensure: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Virginia or eligible to obtain Virginia RN licensure.
• Life Support: AHA BLS-HCP required; may be required to obtain/maintain ACLS, PALS, NRP depending on unit.
• Computer skills: Proficiency with electronic medical records (EPIC).

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for patients of all ages.
• Coordinate nursing care with the health care team and family.
• Provide education to patients and families and participate in care planning and improvement activities.
• Assist with orientation and mentorship of new staff and participate in performance improvement activities.

Education

Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing or approved nursing program eligible to sit for the Virginia RN licensure examination
