Job summary

Glanbia Dairy Nutrition is seeking a Production Team Leader for our Richfield Whey Plant. You will operate CVH processing equipment, take log readings, and adjust processes to ensure high-quality whey product output. The role emphasizes safety, quality, sustainability, and teamwork across shifts.

Key duties include equipment troubleshooting, CIP operations, accurate sampling/documentation, and maintaining clean, safe work areas while meeting plant standards and customer requirements.

Qualifications

  • Ability to operate (or learn to operate) all CVH processing equipment as assigned.
  • Accurate in taking samples, performing tests and documentation.
  • Ability to read and write instructions in English.
  • Computer experience helpful.
  • Must be mechanically inclined.
  • Knowledge of USDA, FDA, SQF and customer requirements for a food manufacturing plant.
  • Knowledge of Sustainability and EPA requirements for a manufacturing plant.
  • Ability to operate (or learn to operate) necessary equipment.
  • Excellent record required in safety, attendance, and punctuality.
  • Ability to stand and walk the entire shift if needed.
  • Knowledge of the proper use of all cleaning chemicals.
  • Must be able to work weekends, and overtime as required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and understand all CVH process and equipment in the Richfield Whey Plant.

  • Safely handle, measure, mix, and dispose of cleaning chemicals per SDS and safety policies.
  • Keep work area clean and uncluttered.
  • Perform duties in a safe manner on variable shifts.
  • Promote and exhibit strong Food Safety, Quality, Sustainability and Housekeeping practices.
  • Report safety, food safety, quality, sustainability and housekeeping issues to supervisor immediately.
  • Participate in teams/projects to improve area metrics.
  • Comply with Occupational Safety and Health Act rules applicable to actions.

Job Summary

Operate CVH and any related equipment to process Whey product in the most efficient manner.

Essential Functions
  • Efficiently operate and understand all of the CVH process and equipment in the Richfield Whey Plant including Silo operation, transfer equipment, RO Unit and Dryer
  • Take log readings and assigned in-processing samples
  • Monitor operation of equipment and make appropriate adjustments to produce top quality product
  • Trouble shoot problems with equipment when needed
  • Operate through the CIP process
  • Safely handle, measure, mix, and dispose of cleaning and sanitizing chemicals used in the Clean-In-Place (CIP) process in accordance with established procedures, safety data sheets (SDS), and company safety policies.
  • Keep work area clean and uncluttered
  • Perform duties in safe manner on variable shifts
  • Promotes and exhibits strong Food Safety and Quality practices
  • Promotes and exhibits strong Sustainability practices
  • Promotes and exhibits strong Housekeeping practices
  • Must report Safety, Food Safety, and Quality, Sustainability and Housekeeping problems to direct supervisor immediately
  • Actively participate in teams and on projects to improve the metrics for given area of responsibility
  • Each employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations, and orders issued pursuant to the Occupational Safety and Health Act which are applicable to his/her own actions and conduct.
  • Complies with all applicable food safety regulations and mandates (Safe Quality Foods, Food and Drug Admin, Pasteurized Milk Ordinance)
  • Safely handle, measure, mix, and dispose of cleaning and sanitizing chemicals used in the Clean-In-Place (CIP) process in accordance with established procedures, safety data sheets (SDS), and company safety policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
