Job Summary and Qualifications
The Operating Room Technician will demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to assist during surgical procedures in the department. The Technician is experienced in aseptic technique, setting up required equipment and sterile supplies, pulling cases, breaking down cases, and possessing knowledge of instrumentation and supply needs for all types of surgical procedures. Duties are performed within the scope of practice and the overall plan of care delivery at HCA HealthONE.
Position Requirements
- Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current BLS Certification is required; Operating Room Technician certification preferred.
- Education: High School or equivalent graduation. Completion of an accredited Operating Room Technician program is preferred.
- Experience: One to three years of experience as an Operating Room Technician.
- Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Basic to advanced knowledge of scrub role responsibilities for all surgical procedures; strong organizational skills; positive and professional communication with internal and external customers.
