Job summary

HCA HealthONE Swedish in Aurora is seeking a Cardiovascular Surgical Technologist to support surgical procedures in the operating room. You will assist with aseptic technique, instrument handling, and case setup to ensure efficient, safe operations.

The position requires CST certification and 1–3 years of cardiovascular OR experience; candidates must graduate from an accredited OR Technician program and possess strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• CST certification or CST-eligible required.
• Graduation from High School or equivalent and graduation from an accredited Operating Room Technician program.
• One to three years of OR Tech experience with cardiovascular/open heart procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist during surgical procedures in the OR.
• Set up equipment and sterile supplies for cases; pull and break down cases.
• Demonstrate knowledge of instrumentation, equipment, and supply needs for various procedures.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Operating Room Technician will be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide assistance during surgical procedures performed in the department. The Operating Room Technician is experienced in all aspects of aseptic technique, setting up the required equipment and sterile supplies as needed for their assigned cases; pulling cases as needed, breaking down cases at the end of the procedure. He/she is knowledgeable regarding instrumentation, equipment and supply needs for all types of surgical procedures. The Operating Room Technician performs delegated duties consistent with his/her scope of practice and functions within the philosophy and overall plan of care delivery at SMC.

II. Position Requirements:

A. Licensure/Certification/Registration:

CST Required

B. Education:

Graduation from High School/equivalent. Graduation from an accredited program for Operating Room Technicians.

C. Experience:

One to three years experience as an Operating Room Technician with Cardiovascular and Open Heart experience

D. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Basic to advanced knowledge in the scrub role and responsibilities for all types of surgical procedures. Demonstrates good organizational skills. Communicates positively and professionally with all internal and external customers.
