Job Summary

The CV Sonographer performs diagnostic cardiovascular examinations per physician orders and department protocols. Generates preliminary reports for physician interpretation. Reviews physician reports; charts and charges procedures electronically. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure safe and effective patient care. Effectively interacts with patients, their significant others, and family members while maintaining professional standards. Interacts with Cardiologists and referring physicians according to departmental policies regarding critical findings. Discusses significant findings, clinical situations, workflow status, and equipment malfunctions with team leaders and managers. Often works without direct supervision, requiring outstanding work ethics and integrity. Must be registered in either Adult Cardiac or Vascular Sonography by ARDMS or CCI, acquire required CMEs, and comply with all personnel policies set forth by Hendrick policy.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education

• High School Diploma

Minimum Work Experience

• 1 year on-the-job training or graduate of an accredited ultrasound school

Required Licenses/Certifications

• RDCS or RCS in adult echo or RVT or RVS in vascular ultrasound (completed within 1 year of hire date)
• CPR

• Perform all cardiovascular ultrasound procedures available in Non-Invasive Cardiology
