Kloeckner Metals Corporation is seeking a Cut to Length Assistant Operator to support the processing line under supervision. This junior operator role involves line/machine setup, product loading with safety/quality standards, and cross-training across lines to meet production needs.

The position emphasizes reliability, attention to detail, and ability to work 2nd shift hours (3:00 p.m.–1:00 a.m. Mon–Thu; Fri 1:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m.) with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Computer experience using computers for work or school.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Prior experience in an industrial warehouse environment preferred.
• Proficient with basic measurement tools such as tape measures.
• Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
• Follow safety and operational processes and procedures.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Willingness to learn new skills and train others as needed.
• Ability to pass a physical examination for vision, hearing, and mobility.
• Demonstrated reliable work history.
• Must be detail-oriented with a strong focus on precision and quality.

Responsibilities

• Setup assistance: help operators with line and machine setup and production processes.

• Non-conformance notification: report any observed non-conformances during processing to the operator.
• Setup creation: assist in the creation and adjustment of setups as required.
• Packaging support: aid in the packaging area as needed.
• Cross-training: support and/or train on other lines or machines to meet business needs.
• Computer use: utilize computer systems to facilitate production tasks.
• Additional duties: perform other related tasks as assigned.

Job Summary

The Cut to Length Assistant Operator supports the processing line and machine operations, working under the guidance of an operator, senior operator, lead, or supervisor. This role involves duties related to the setup of the line and/or machine and serves as the junior operator on the line. The position reports to the Operations Manager.

2nd Shift Hours: 3:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m. Monday-Thursday - Friday 1:00 p.m. 9:00 p.m., with availability to work overtime as needed.

Job Responsibilities

• Setup Assistance: Help operators with line and machine setup and production processes
• Product Loading: Load products onto the line or machine while adhering to safety and quality standards
• Non-Conformance Notification: Report any observed non-conformances during processing to the operator
• Setup Creation: Assist in the creation and adjustment of setups as required
