Job summary

Lippert is seeking a full-time saw operator to cut material used in chassis assemblies. You will measure and cut pre-cut tubes and operate a saw, reporting to the team leader to meet daily production goals.

Responsibilities include following safety rules, maintaining clean work areas, and using observed measurements to ensure precise cuts. This role requires physical activity and adherence to procedures.

Summary/Objective

1. Combination of specified designs and measurements, appropriate component parts, cutting, and welding systems to producepre-cut tube.
2. Maintenance of raw material inventory (plate, channel, tube, angle, etc.).
3. Movement of raw material to and from saw area.
4. Maintenance of saw, saw tables, saw blades, rollers, etc.
5. Assurance of secure material handling through safety cross-checks.

Working Conditions

• Primarily on the floor/in the work, could be exposed to elements (heat, snow, etc.)
• May sit or stand for several hours at a time.
• Repetitive use of hands to operate machinery.

Qualifications

1. High school degree or GED.
2. Must be able to operateappropriate equipment including band saws, tape measurers, etc.
3. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
4. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
5. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

3. Basic computer skills needed to post-production tags onto the system.

8. Must demonstrate welding competency and knowledge of welding systems.

This role does not have any supervisory responsibility upon hiring.

Physical Demands

While performing duties of the job, theteam memberis regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active – while performing this job theteam memberis regularly standing,walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, balancing, reaching, handling, and climbing all day. Theteam membermay have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

This position requirespersonalprotectiveequipment such as work gloves, safety glasses, ear plugs, cut resistant sleeves, and seasonal gear which will be provided(contingent on position).

Additional items required but not included are steel toed shoes or boots with metatarsal guards.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time hourly position, and hours of work and days are based upon the need to support operations and production. Some Saturdays will be mandatory.

No travel required for this position.

Preferred Education and Experience

1. Ability to read and understand basic blueprints.
2. Lift Truck Operators License preferred (training available).
