Job summary

Trade Compliance Recruiting Solutions is seeking a Trade Compliance Manager to lead import compliance initiatives for a leading greenhouse produce company near Livonia, MI. The role focuses on HTS classification, valuation, FTAs, and coordination with customs brokers to ensure timely entry filings.

The position requires extensive CBP rule knowledge, experience with EO/HTS databases, and the ability to drive KPI-based improvements across post-entry activities and PMS programs.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of customs compliance experience with a large importer or customs brokerage.
• Licensed US Customs Broker (LCB) or CCS required.
• Strong knowledge of HTS, COO, valuation, FTAs, and PGAs.
• Produce or agriculture industry experience between US, Mexico, and Canadian customs a plus.

Responsibilities

• Drive import compliance across HTS classification, valuation, trade remedies, and FTAs.
• Conduct rulings research to assign HTS classifications and maintain a centralized HTS database.
• Work with customs brokers to facilitate cross-border clearances and timely entry filing.
• Conduct post-entry reviews of entry documents, receiving, and payment.
• Prepare duty refund claims and duty impact analyses.
• Support the PMS program and generate ACE reports.
• Manage customs documentation and recordkeeping.
• Optimize customs processes to reduce lead times and improve customer satisfaction.
• Build and monitor customs clearance and compliance KPIs; implement corrective actions.

The Trade Compliance Manager is responsible for driving import compliance and optimizing customs

processes for a leading greenhouse produce company while ensuring imports are compliant with CBP

rules and regulations

This is an in-office position based near Livonia, MI.

EXPECTATIONS

• Drive import compliance across HTS classification, valuation, trade remedies, and Free Trade Agreements (FTA)


• Conduct rulings research to assign HTS classifications and maintain a centralized HTS database


• Work with customs brokers to facilitate cross-border clearances and timely entry filing


• Conduct post-entry reviews of entry documents, receiving, and payment


• Prepare duty refund claims and duty impact analyses


• Support the Periodic Monthly Statement (PMS) program and generate ACE reports


• Manage customs documentation and recordkeeping


• Optimize customs processes to reduce lead times and improve customer satisfaction


• Build and monitor customs clearance and compliance KPIs, implementing corrective actions

ESSENTIALS

• Licensed US Customs Broker (LCB) or Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) required


• 10+ years of customs compliance experience with a large importer or customs brokerage


• Strong understanding of CBP rules and regulations, import clearance


• In depth experience with HTS, COO, valuation, FTAs, and PGAs, etc.


• Produce or agriculture industry experience between US, Mexico, and Canadian customs a plus
