Job summary

Boston Scientific is seeking a Materials Supervisor to coordinate a team of Material Handlers responsible for dock activities, packing, picking and shipping. The role requires onsite work five days a week in the local office, with a shift from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and no relocation sponsorship.

  • Experience with GMP/ISO and SOPs is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Process export documentation for all exports, including scheduling carrier pickups.
  • Oversee workload distribution and productivity, monitor throughput and quality.
  • Provide on-the-job training to staff to meet customer expectations and regulatory requirements.
  • Investigate and resolve cross-site errors and support risk assessments.
  • Apply Lean principles to daily activities and identify process improvements.
  • Perform duties of staff when necessary and ensure adherence to regulations.

About this role:
Coordinate a team of Material Handlers that are responsible for the physical and systematic activities (dock activity, packing, pick, ship etc.), while identifying, resolving, or elevating issues in a timely manner. Ensure compliance with all regulations and procedures, and partner with Quality function as necessary.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Process export documentation for all of exports including scheduling pickups from carriers. Along with scheduling pick-ups for domestic freight upon request.
  • Oversees workload distribution and productivity performance of the group. Responsible for monitoring/reporting throughput, quality, and assigning tasks accordingly. Monitor performance to standard operating procedures, including company Quality policy and working towards ensuring regulatory requirements are met. Track and report out quality, productivity, and throughput metrics as required. Perform job duties of staff (Material Handlers) when necessary.
  • Responds to internal and external customer requests. Assists staff with problem solving, inquiries and handles escalated issues. Perform on the job training for employees to meet customer expectations and to adhere to GMP, ISO and Standard Operating Procedures specifications.
  • Investigate and resolve errors that occur between sites. Such as short ships over ships etc… Support with NCEP investigations and risk assessments by retrieving necessary information to complete the prevention.
  • Apply Lean Principles to daily activity.
  • Identify and implement process improvements. Use of computers, printers, and other equipment as required. Use of handling equipment - pallet jacks, power equipment maybe required. Lifting, bending, reaching, pulling, standing, and turning required through out the day.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • 1-2 Years with High School Diploma and/orEquivalent experience, training , or apprenticeships
