Job summary

JAS Worldwide is seeking a Customs Entry Specialist to prepare and process customs entries, verify compliance, and manage associated billing. The role requires proficiency in classification, accurate data handling, and interaction with importers.

You will support post-entry work and ensure timely submission of information to CBP as needed. Office-based position in a climate-controlled environment, with emphasis on accuracy, deadlines, and teamwork in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3 years minimum customs entry experience required.
  • Intermediate level knowledge in Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with U.S. CBP or Other Government Agencies (OGA).
  • Preferred experience working in CargoWise (C1).

Responsibilities

  • Process customs clearance ensuring all necessary data and documents are available.
  • Investigate, resolve and communicate operational or entry issues.
  • Review client requirements including accounting, credit, customs bond, audit instructions and billing.
  • Review entry details and verify compliance.
  • Enter all billing charges into the system.
  • Participate in ISO audits and documentation updates.
  • Other duties as needed.

Job description

JAS is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company. Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage and other supply chain management services, including consulting, the coordination of purchase orders and customized management services.

SUMMARY:

The Customs Entry Specialist prepares and processes entries, review details and verifies compliance data related calculations, and duty policies. Additionally, this role is responsible for ensuring the submission of additional information pertaining to cargo to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) before it is brought into the U.S. The role requires proficiency in classification skills as well as an ability to successfully interact with importers and manage post entry work.

Essential Functions
  • Process customs clearance confirming all necessary data and documents are available.

  • Investigate, resolve and communicate operational or entry issues.

  • Review fundamental components related to client requirements that include accounting, credit, customs bond, audit instructions and billing.

  • Review entry details and verify compliance.

  • Enter all billing charges into system.

  • Participate in ISO audits and documentation updates.

  • Other duties as needed.

Environment :

100% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions.
