In this critical post-purchase role, you will bridge the gap between complex agency mission objectives and advanced cybersecurity capabilities. Your technical leadership will directly drive mission success, maximize ROI on public sector technology investments, and enhance national and constituent cybersecurity resilience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Palo Alto Networks' security portfolio for Public Sector clients, guiding agency architects, Security Operations Center (SOC) leads, and IT directors through complex deployments, technical requirements, custom automation scripting, and tailored operational guidance

  • Ensure all security solutions align with public sector compliance and security frameworks, including FedRAMP, NIST SP 800-53, FISMA, CMMC, and Zero Trust Architecture mandates

  • Partner closely with internal Product, Engineering, and Public Sector Sales/Solutions Engineering teams to represent government customer requirements, influence product roadmaps, and facilitate resolution for high-severity, mission-critical incidents

  • Translate technical solutions, edge-case fixes, and Public Sector deployment patterns into standardized knowledge base articles, deployment guides, and playbook templates to drive scalable customer enablement across federal, state, and local entities

  • Conduct architectural reviews and maturity assessments to ensure customer SOC environments fully leverage XDR, SIEM, SOAR, and Cloud Security capabilities while automating security response workflows to reduce Mean Time to Respond (MTTR) within highly regulated networks

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Security Operations (SOC), Security Engineering, or Cyber Incident Response within SIEM, SOAR, SOC, and/or XDR/EDR environments

  • Public Sector Experience: Demonstrated understanding of federal, state, or defense agency IT environments, procurement workflows, and public sector compliance frameworks (NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP, CMMC, DoD Cloud Computing SRG).

  • Cloud & Infrastructure Proficiency: Familiarity with multicloud technologies (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, GCP) and public sector cloud security use cases

  • Technical Scripting: Proficiency in scripting with Python and/or JavaScript for API integrations and security orchestration automation

  • Stakeholder Management & Relationship Building: Proven capability in customer-facing roles, managing public sector technical stakeholders, building strong inter-agency relationships, and communicating complex cybersecurity concepts to diverse audiences

  • Agility & Execution: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priority agency initiatives under pressure

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Domain Experience: Experience with Attack Surface Management (ASM), Cloud Native Application Protection Platforms (CNAPP), or Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) in public sector architectures

  • Industry Certifications: CISSP, CISM, CCSP, Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Consultant (PCNSC), or Palo Alto Networks Certified Security Automation Engineer (PCSAE).
