Job summary

The Salvation Army Thomson Family Store is seeking a part-time associate with benefits. You will assist customers with donations, selections, and purchases, operate the cash register, and ensure the security of cash and items.

A friendly, service-oriented attitude helps create a welcoming shopping experience. Responsibilities include balancing cash, maintaining displays, supporting donation processing, and opening/closing the store per schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Ability to handle cash and operate a cash register.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ring up sales, collect money, balance the drawer, and issue receipts.
• Prepare bank deposits and maintain cash register security.
• Process sales records, tax forms, and vouchers as directed.
• Keep register area neat and stocked with supplies.
• Explain store policies and assist pricing/purchasing of items.
• Assist donors, direct loading/unloading, and provide tax receipts.
• Arrange and rotate stock to keep displays neat and inviting.
• Answer phones, provide directions, and schedule pickups when needed.
• Clean displays, floors, windows, and maintain a welcoming store.
• Open and close store according to schedule.
