Job summary

Alside, a leading exterior building products distributor, is seeking a Service & Support Representative in Columbus, OH. You will be the primary contact for customers, handling orders, resolving issues, and guiding product choices to support revenue and customer satisfaction.

Hours Monday–Friday 7am–4pm; pay range $26–$27 per hour. Candidates with strong customer service, CRM experience (Salesforce), and Excel/Outlook proficiency thrive in our safety-focused, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
• 2–5 years in retail/wholesale or customer-facing roles with demonstrated success.
• CRM experience, preferably Salesforce; proficiency with Excel, Outlook and Office.
• General knowledge of building materials is helpful but not required.

The Service & Support Representative is responsible for delivering a high level of customer service while supporting customer engagement and overall business objectives. This role serves as a primary point of contact for customers by managing orders, resolving issues, and providing product guidance.

In addition, the position supports customer outreach initiatives, including outbound sales calls to pool accounts (inactive or unassigned accounts designated for new business development) to generate revenue and expand the Supply Center's customer base.

Key Responsibilities & Expectations

• Deliver a consistent, high-quality customer service experience
• Respond to customer needs accurately, thoroughly, and in a timely manner
• Develop and maintain a working knowledge of products, services, and delivery capabilities
• Accurately enter customer orders and ensure proper documentation
• Field and resolve customer questions, concerns, and issues professionally
• Support customer engagement initiatives through outbound pool calls to accounts, as needed
• Utilize consultative communication to identify customer needs and recommend appropriate products or solutions when applicable
• Establish, develop, and maintain positive customer relationships
• Operate in a safe manner and comply with all company safety policies and procedures
• Support Supply Center goals related to customer service, safety, and operational excellence
• Follow all company policies and procedures
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Branch Manager in support of overall business objectives, including outbound pool account sales calls to generate new business for the Supply Center.

• Experience with Microsoft Excel, Office, and Outlook
• General knowledge of the building materials industry preferred, but not required

The actual wage offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal pay parity. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.

Hours are Monday-Friday 7am-4pm.

The pay range for this position is $26-$27 an hour.
