Job summary

Hy-Vee, Inc. is seeking a Courtesy Clerk to support customers from the register to their car, keep the store clean and welcoming, and assist in all departments as needed. This active role requires stocking, bagging, and helping customers with a friendly, responsive attitude.

No formal education or experience is required; comprehensive training is provided. Night and weekend shifts will be required, and the position emphasizes teamwork and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile, learning their names, and going out of your way to make every visit a great one
• Package customer purchases and assist customers in transporting them to their mode of transportation
• Bring carts in from the parking lot and cart corrals throughout your shift
• Clean registers, restrooms, the break room, and the backroom, and sweep and mop floors as needed
• Stock, face, and rotate merchandise, clean shelves, understand shelf tags, and know the location of merchandise in the store and backroom
• Pull product forward on shelves to maintain a full, organized appearance
• Check prices on products as needed
• Maintain front end supplies including paper and plastic bags, receipt paper, and other necessary items
• Help train new courtesy clerks
• Deliver product to customers and assist in all departments as requested within wage and hour guidelines
• Shovel, salt, and sand walkways as needed
• Work with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment
• Assist in other areas of the store as needed and take on special projects as assigned
• Maintain strict adherence to personal hygiene, dress standards, and all Hy-Vee policies and store guidelines
• Report to work when scheduled and on time
