Job Summary

Ensures high patient satisfaction through excellent customer service, quality food, accurate menus, and timely tray delivery and pickup. Performs clerical and computer duties to provide high-quality meal service to patients. Rotating schedule including weekends and holidays. Shifts start between 3:00 PM-4:15 PM and end by 7:00 PM-8:15 PM, with 5 shifts of 4 hours per week.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Answer and process telephone calls courteously, assist patients with menu selections, and help with menu completion in patient rooms.
  • Correct menus to reflect diet changes, check reports for patient status updates, and communicate special needs to relevant departments.
  • Deliver meals to patients or coordinate with Room Service Associates, prepare bedside tables, and respond to patient or family questions.
  • Prepare floor stock sheets, deliver supplies, and maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchens and equipment.
  • Mix and label tube/special feedings according to instructions, maintain formulary room cleanliness, and inventory supplies.
Required Qualifications
  • Some High School education required; vocational or technical training in Nutrition preferred.
  • 1-3 years of related work experience required.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to navigate web-based applications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of therapeutic diets and hospital food service operations.

Physical Nature of the Job

Light work involving exerting up to 20 pounds frequently, standing, and moving throughout the hospital campus.
