Nordstrom in Chicago is seeking a customer-focused associate to assist customers with transactions and deliver a seamless, friendly in-store experience. You will use store technology, build relationships, and support team goals in a fast-paced retail setting.

A day in the life…

• Assist customers with a variety of transactions through a seamless and friendly experience.
• Demonstrate expertise in all technologies used in the store environment.
• Inspire trust, teamwork and positive team relationships.
• Defuse customer situations and provide resolution in a timely and effective manner.
• Ensure the security and privacy of customer information through education, compliance and resolution of issues.
• Motivate and inspire others to adopt initiatives such as our Nordstrom Rewards program.

Physical Requirements

Continuous movement for 6-8 hours per shift, which includes frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing and reaching in order to handle merchandise and assist customers. Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling. Handle bulky and sometimes awkwardly shaped items, which includes reaching for and lifting these items above the head. Regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds.

Pay Range Details

$17.45 - $18.15 Hourly. At Nordstrom, the commission most selling employees receive varies based on the merchandise they sell. Apparel, shoes, and accessories sales typically range from 3% to 14.5%. The commission Beauty and Men’s Fragrance sales roles typically receive is 3%.
