Job Requirements

General Job Duties

• Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk-in cooler.
• Receive and process telephone orders.
• Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
• Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.
• Orientation and training are provided on the job.

Communication Skills

• Comprehend and give correct written instructions.
• Communicate verbally with customers and co-workers to process orders over the phone and in person.

Essential Functions/Skills

• Perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) accurately and quickly.
• Make correct monetary change.
• Use verbal, written, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
• Have motor coordination to rapidly and accurately make precise movements.
• Enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.

Work Conditions

• Exposure to varying weather when removing trash and other outside tasks.
• In-store temperatures range from 36°F in the cooler to 90°F and above in some work areas.
• Sudden temperature changes in work area and while outside.
• Fumes from food odors.
• Exposure to cornmeal dust.
• Cramped quarters, including walk-in cooler.
• Hot surfaces/tools from oven up to 500°F or higher.
• Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.

Physical Requirements

• Standing: most tasks are performed from a standing position; walking for short distances and durations.
• Lifting: bulk product deliveries are unloaded using a hand truck; cases may weigh up to 50 pounds.
• Carrying: large cans and pizza sauce may be carried; trays of dough may be carried three at a time.
• Push/Pull: trays on dollies may require up to 7.5 pounds of force to push.
• Climbing: infrequently navigate stairs or climb a ladder.
• Stooping/Bending: forward bending at the waist is required at the pizza assembly station.
• Crouching/Squatting: performed occasionally to stock shelves and clean low areas.
• Reaching: performed continuously up, down, forward; may reach above 72 inches.
• Hand tasks: eye-hand coordination essential; frequent use of hands, forearms, wrists, and gripping items such as pizza peel, cutter, boxes.
• Machines/Tools: use of computers, telephones, calculators, pizza cutter, and peel.
