Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger to create an outstanding customer experience at the checkout area. You will bag groceries, assist customers with loading, and maintain a safe, clean store environment.

Key responsibilities include informing customers about specials, performing basic shelf conditioning, and adhering to food safety regulations. Retail experience is a plus, and the role requires strong communication and teamwork in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Bag groceries at checkout for customers.
• Strive to bag at least five items without damaging contents.
• Follow best practices for bagging in reusable, plastic, or paper bags.
• Assist in removing merchandise from bottom of bascart for checkout.
• Offer to help customers load bags into their car.
• Perform basic shelf conditioning and keep aisles tidy.
• Inform customers of grocery specials and price checks for cashiers.
• Return merchandise to store shelves and return bascarts to designated areas.
• Clean spills and collect trash inside store and in the parking lot.
• Maintain a clean store environment inside and outside the store.
• Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise.
• Understand store layout and locate products; conduct price checks.
• Comply with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions; notify management.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Inspect equipment and report items needing repair.
• Provide welcoming environment and answer questions about products.
