Job summary

Family Dollar Stores Of Florida LLC in Tampa, FL is seeking a part-time Retail Associate to assist customers, handle transactions, and maintain store cleanliness and stock. You will unload trucks, replenish merchandise, and ensure a safe, friendly shopping environment.

The role requires good customer service, ability to lift 30–50 lbs, and strong communication and organizational skills. Prior retail or service experience is preferred; high school diploma is desirable. Training provided.

Qualifications

• Requires excellent customer service and relationship management.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents.
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions at the cash register.
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets.
• Keep the store stocked and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and help unload trucks; stock replenishment.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Maintain store cleanliness including restrooms, floors, and trash.
• Other duties as assigned.

Duties

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations


• Manage sales transactions while working assigned cash register


• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets


• Keep the store well-stocked, and recover merchandise


• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks, stock replenishment in accordance with productivity standards


• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment while maintaining professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders


• Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness throughout the store, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out the trash, and ensuring all areas are neat and presentable


• Other duties as assigned

Skills and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred


• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred


• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents is required


• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting


• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills are required


• Strong organizational and communication skills are required


• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are required
