Job summary

Family Dollar Stores Of Texas LLC in Sandia, TX is seeking a part-time Customer Service Associate to help customers, operate the register, and keep the store organized. You will assist with questions, process transactions, and ensure merchandise is neatly stocked on the floor and in stockrooms.

As a team member, you will unload shipments, restock shelves, maintain a clean and safe shopping environment, and deliver friendly interactions with customers and fellow associates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior retail or customer service experience is highly preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents.
• Must lift 30–50 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping and bending.
• Strong customer service, communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions at the cash register.
• Maintain cash security and protect company assets.
• Keep the store well-stocked and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and help unload trucks; stock replenishment.

Job description

We’re seeking a Customer Service Associate to join our team and deliver a great shopping experience for every customer.

Duties

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations
• Manage sales transactions while working assigned cash register
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets
• Keep the store well-stocked, and recover merchandise
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks, stock replenishment in accordance with productivity standards
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment while maintaining professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders
• Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness throughout the store, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out the trash, and ensuring all areas are neat and presentable
• Other duties as assigned*

Skills and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents is required
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills are required
• Strong organizational and communication skills are required
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are required
