Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores INC is hiring a part-time Customer Service Associate in Romulus, Michigan. You will assist customers, handle transactions, keep the store clean, stock shelves, and help unload merchandise while maintaining a friendly, safe environment.

This role requires good communication, reliability, and the ability to lift 30–50 lbs. Prior customer service experience is preferred, and you'll join a team dedicated to a positive shopping experience.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hospitality, grocery or drugstore preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents is required.
• Lift 30–50 lbs and frequent walking, standing, bending and stooping.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.

Job description

We're seeking a Customer Service Associate to join our team and deliver a great shopping experience for every customer.

Duties

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations
• Manage sales transactions while working assigned cash register
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets
• Keep the store well-stocked, and recover merchandise
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks, stock replenishment in accordance with productivity standards
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment while maintaining professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders
• Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness throughout the store, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out the trash, and ensuring all areas are neat and presentable
• Other duties as assigned*

Skills and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents is required
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills are required
• Strong organizational and communication skills are required
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are required
