Job summary

Family Dollar Stores Of South Carolina LLC is seeking a Customer Service Associate to provide a great shopping experience for our customers in Goose Creek, SC. This role involves assisting customers, handling transactions at the register, stocking shelves, and maintaining a clean, safe store environment.

The position requires strong customer service skills, reliability, and physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Part-time availability is expected, with opportunities to grow within the team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior customer service in retail or similar environment preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operating procedures.
• Must be able to lift 30–50 lbs and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions at the cash register.
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets.
• Keep the store well-stocked and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and assist with unloading trucks and stock replenishment.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain store cleanliness, including bathrooms, floors, and waste, and keep areas neat and presentable.

Job description

We’re seeking a Customer Service Associate to join our team and deliver a great shopping experience for every customer.

Duties

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations
• Manage sales transactions while working assigned cash register
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets
• Keep the store well-stocked, and recover merchandise
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks, stock replenishment in accordance with productivity standards
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment while maintaining professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders
• Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness throughout the store, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out the trash, and ensuring all areas are neat and presentable
• Other duties as assigned

Skills and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents is required
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills are required
• Strong organizational and communication skills are required
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are required
