Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores INC is seeking a Customer Service Associate to help customers, ring up sales, stock merchandise, and maintain a safe, friendly store environment. You will greet shoppers, answer questions, and guide them to the right products while following store procedures and policies.

This role is part-time at our Deming, NM location. You should be able to lift 30–50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work as part of a team to ensure fast, accurate service and a clean, welcoming store.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous customer service experience in retail or related fields is highly preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions at the assigned cash register.
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets.
• Keep the store well-stocked and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and unload trucks; stock replenishment per standards.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful store environment.
• Keep store clean, bathrooms stocked, and areas neat and presentable.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

We’re seeking a Customer Service Associate to join our team and deliver a great shopping experience for every customer.

Duties

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations
• Manage sales transactions while working assigned cash register
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets
• Keep the store well-stocked, and recover merchandise
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks, stock replenishment in accordance with productivity standards
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment while maintaining professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders
• Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness throughout the store, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out the trash, and ensuring all areas are neat and presentable
• Other duties as assigned*

Skills and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents is required
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills are required
• Strong organizational and communication skills are required
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are required
