Family Dollar Stores Of Michigan LLC is seeking a part-time Customer Service Associate in Brimley, MI to provide a friendly shopping experience. You will assist customers, handle cash transactions, and help keep the store stocked and clean.

This role requires bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, and standing for extended periods, with emphasis on safety and courteous customer interactions. Ideal candidates have prior retail or service experience and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous customer service experience in retail or similar environment preferred.
• Ability to interpret operational documents and follow instructions.
• Physical ability to lift 30–50 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong organizational and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Process sales transactions at the cash register and manage money securely.
• Maintain store cleanliness and restock as needed, including bathrooms.
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks and stock replenishment.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

We’re seeking a Customer Service Associate to join our team and deliver a great shopping experience for every customer.

Duties

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations
• Manage sales transactions while working assigned cash register
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets
• Keep the store well-stocked, and recover merchandise
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks, stock replenishment in accordance with productivity standards
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment while maintaining professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders
• Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness throughout the store, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out the trash, and ensuring all areas are neat and presentable
• Other duties as assigned*

Skills and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents is required
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills are required
• Strong organizational and communication skills are required
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are required
