Job summary

Dollar Tree, Inc. is seeking a part-time associate in Bay City to assist customers, process transactions, and keep the store clean and well-stocked. You will help unload merchandise, restock shelves, and maintain a safe, friendly environment for customers and team members.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and prior retail or customer service experience is preferred. Lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for long periods are part of the role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior retail/customer service experience is highly preferred.
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions at the cash register.
• Maintain cash security and protect company assets.
• Keep the store stocked and recover merchandise as needed.
• Receive merchandise and help unload trucks, stock replenishment.
• Ensure a safe, friendly, and professional environment.
• Maintain cleanliness of the store, bathrooms, and floors.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Duties

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations
• Manage sales transactions while working assigned cash register
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets
• Keep the store well-stocked, and recover merchandise
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks, stock replenishment in accordance with productivity standards
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment while maintaining professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders
• Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness throughout the store, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out the trash, and ensuring all areas are neat and presentable
• Other duties as assigned*

Skills and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents is required
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills are required
• Strong organizational and communication skills are required
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are required
