POSITION SUMMARYThe Customer Service Associate (CSA) serves as the primary point of contact for customers, delivering exceptional service while performing both transactional (teller) and account servicing functions. This role supports customer relationship development by addressing financial needs, maintaining accurate account information, and promoting appropriate banking products and services. The CSA ensures all activities are completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory and bank standards.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESCustomer Service & Relationship ManagementProvide clean, organized, and welcoming customer environmentBuild and maintain strong interpersonal relationships with customers and coworkersGenerate referrals and cross-sell appropriate products and servicesAccount Servicing & MaintenanceOpen new accounts and perform maintenance on existing accountsMaintain and update customer records to ensure accuracyProcess and manage:Wire transfers and associated agreementsDebit card issuance, activation, and maintenanceOnline and business online banking enrollmentCheck orders and account documentation updatesSupport various account types, including consumer, business, IRA, and HSA accountsHandle customer disputes and coordinate resolution with appropriate departmentsAssist customers with safe deposit box access and documentationTransaction Processing & Cash HandlingProcess deposits, withdrawals, and check cashing transactions accuratelyVerify customer identity, endorsements, signatures, and balancesProcess a variety of transactions, including:ATM and night depositsLoan, utility, and mail paymentsIRA and HSA contributionsPrepare and verify official checksCount and manage cash and coin throughout the dayBalance teller drawer, ATM, and vault according to established proceduresIdentify, research, and resolve transaction discrepanciesOperational & Team SupportAssist coworkers and other departments as needed to support branch operationsProvide guidance or assistance to less experienced staff when appropriateMaintain teller station organization and required suppliesMonitor and report equipment or system issuesReview work for completeness and accuracyAssist with customer and vendor access to controlled areas when requiredParticipate in ongoing training and support product/service knowledge sharingCompliance & Risk ManagementAdhere to all bank policies, procedures, and federal regulationsComply with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Customer Identification Program (CIP), and related compliance requirementsComplete required reports, including Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs), accurately and timelyPlace holds on accounts according to regulatory requirementsIdentify and help prevent fraudulent activity, including counterfeit items and elder abuseMaintain strict confidentiality of customer and bank informationCash Control & BalancingPhysically count assigned cash daily, including currency and coinBalance teller drawer, ATM, and vault accurately and within established guidelinesFollow all cash handling and balancing procedures, including dual verification when requiredAvoid force balancing and properly report and resolve discrepanciesEnsure all transactions are processed and recorded prior to end-of-day closeEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREDHigh school diploma or GED requiredMinimum 6 months customer service experience requiredTeller or banking experience preferredSales or new accounts experience preferredBusiness-related education or coursework preferredFamiliarity with banking
