Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a team member to act as a customer-ready associate in our store. You will greet customers, locate products, stock shelves, and help maintain displays and plan-o-grams.

The role includes unloading deliveries, operating the cash register, bagging purchases, and assisting with pricing and merchandising efforts to support store profitability and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan‑o‑grams and merchandising guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic arithmetic skills.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons; stock shelves and stock room.
• Build and rotate displays; maintain plan‑o‑gram alignment.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise and answer questions.
• Operate the cash register, bag items, and handle payments.
• Assist with ordering using handheld scanners when needed.
• Keep the store clean, including floors, restrooms and stockroom.
