Job summary

The Salvation Army Laurel Family Store in Laurel, MS is seeking a part-time associate to support daily retail operations and customer service. You will ring up sales, process donations, and maintain a clean, organized checkout area while ensuring accurate cash handling and receipts.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and the ability to read, write, and communicate in English. Prior retail experience is a plus; this role offers benefits and a supportive team environment.

Responsibilities

• Rings up sales at the register, handles cash, counts change, and prepares receipts.
• Prepares and balances cash drawer and processes bank deposits as needed.
• Maintains tidy register area and stocking of bags/forms; assists with donations and tax receipts when required.
• Assists customers by explaining store policy and answering pricing/purchasing questions.
• Supports customers donating items and directs loading/unloading areas, assisting with donations as needed.
