Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise to ensure shelves are full and well presented.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons; move merchandise to stock room or sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays and rotate stock on shelves.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise and answering questions.
• Greet customers and operate the cash register to complete sales.
• Collect payment, make change, and bag merchandise.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners as needed.
• Keep the front end clean and help set up sidewalk displays when necessary.
