Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a team-oriented Store Associate to greet customers, assist with locating and stocking merchandise, and operate the checkout efficiently. You will help maintain plan-o-grams, build displays, and ensure merchan­dise is correctly priced and replenished.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and receive merchandise.
• Store merchandise in stock room or on the sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays.
• Stock and rotate merchandise on shelves; restock as needed.
• Assist customers in locating items and answering questions.
• Operate cash register and process payments; bag merchandise.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners.
• Keep store clean including front end, restrooms, and stockroom.
• Comply with company policies and procedures and greet customers.
