Job summary

Navy Exchange in Patuxent River, Maryland is seeking a flexible cashier to warmly greet customers, learn our products, and help them find what they need.

You will operate the POS system, handle cash and card transactions, and assist with promotions and events while maintaining a clean checkout area. No prior experience required; available hours include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Retail or relevant work experience, preferred but not required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; read, write, and interpret instructional documents.
• Knowledge of Point-of-Sale systems.

Responsibilities

• Proactively engage customers and assess their needs.
• Direct customers to merchandise and inform them about promotions and events.
• Process cash exchanges and other payments using the POS system; count money accurately.
• Maintain the checkout area and restock bags/packaging materials.
• Complete various forms, reports, and reconciliation related to sales.
• Be the keeper of merchandise and participate in periodic inventories.
• Adhere to the assigned work schedule with dependable performance.
