Job summary

Three Bears Alaska, Inc. is seeking a friendly cashier to greet customers, ring up purchases, and provide prompt service in a store setting. You will process payments, monitor merchandise at the register, and maintain a clean, organized checkout area.

The role requires accurate cash handling, scanning items with a handheld scanner, and following safety procedures. Propane fueling and related safety guidelines are part of the responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in cashiering and customer service is desirable.
• Ability to operate a POS system and cash handling procedures.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Ring up customers and process payments accurately.
• Monitor merchandise at the register and keep the area clean.
• Scan items using handheld scanner or enter item numbers.
• Transfer or ensure transfer of scanned items to the packaging area.
• Ask a supervisor to verify high-ticket transactions.
• Assist with packaging and transferring merchandise following safety rules.
• Balance register at shift start/end, handle cash drops and adjustments.
• Complete related tasks, such as stocking and paperwork.
• Fill propane tanks for customers and follow propane safety guidelines.
