Job summary

Fireworks AI is seeking an Applied Machine Learning Engineer to bridge cutting-edge research and practical applications. You will build, fine-tune, and operate ML models that deliver real business value and better user experiences.

You will collaborate with GTM teams, build compelling PoCs, design end-to-end AI-powered applications, and contribute to the ML platform with new model integrations and performance improvements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a software engineering role with customer-facing experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Hands-on ML model fine-tuning, including SFT and RLHF/RFT.
• Strong Python coding skills.
• Solid understanding of generative AI and enterprise infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Bridge AI research and real-world applications.
• Develop, fine-tune, and operationalize ML models.
• Collaborate with GTM team to deploy ML solutions.
• Build PoCs and AI-powered applications for customers.
• Improve ML platform features and resolve issues.
• Integrate new models into platforms or client environments.
• Optimize performance, efficiency, and scalability of models.
