Job summary

The Home Depot in Michigan is seeking enthusiastic Customer Service/Sales associates to deliver fast, friendly service and actively assist customers with their needs.

You will greet, qualify, recommend, and close sales, learn product details, and help customers select complete projects across departments such as Building Materials, Décor, Electrical, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Kitchen & Bath, Lumber and more.

Qualifications

• Provide fast, friendly service by actively seeking out customers to assess their needs and provide assistance.
• Learn product information to help customers select and close sales.
• Maintain in-stock conditions and keep areas clean, safe and shop-able.
• Follow safety policies and training; report hazards to Manager on Duty.
• Collaborate with Department Supervisor and other departments.
• Departments may include Building Materials, Décor, Electrical, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Kitchen & Bath, Lumber, Millwork, Paint, Plumbing and Tool Rental.

Responsibilities

• Greet, qualify, recommend and close every customer in their department and know how to handle basics in adjacent departments.
• Provide information to customers to sell an entire project and learn product details to assist with purchases.
• Work with others to maintain sales floor standards and in-stock conditions.
• Create a safe working and shopping environment by following safety policies and training.
