The TJX Companies, Inc. seeks a Front-of-Store Leader to oversee Associates and champion an outstanding customer experience at our TJ Maxx location in Killingly, CT. You will lead by example, promote loyalty programs, and ensure a clean, organized store while balancing shifts and POS coverage.

Ideal candidates bring 1 year of retail leadership experience, strong communication, and a proven ability to train and mentor teams, delivering friendly, efficient service in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Promote an excellent customer experience and lead by example in front-of-store operations.
• Oversee a team of Associates ensuring prompt, courteous service and loyalty program promotions.
• Train and mentor Associates on front-end principles and personalized customer interactions.
• Assign registers, support POS coverage, and coordinate breaks for all Associates.
• Address customer concerns promptly to ensure a positive experience.
• Ensure tasks align with store plan and adapt priorities as needed.
• Communicate priorities clearly with management and Associates; provide progress updates.
• Recognize staff performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with Management on training needs to boost effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with labor laws and store policies.
• Promote safety and maintain a secure store environment.
• Support store shrink reduction initiatives and loyalty programs.

Responsible for promoting an excellent customer experience. Oversees a team of Associates at front of store ensuring prompt, courteous customer service and promotion of loyalty programs. Leads by example by engaging and interacting with all customers, and maintaining a clean and organized store. Role models outstanding customer service.

• Creates a positive internal and external customer experience


• Promotes a culture of honesty and integrity; maintains confidentiality


• Takes an active role in training and mentoring Associates on front end principles


• Trains and coaches Associates on personalizing the customer experience while promoting loyalty programs


• Assigns registers, supports and responds to POS coverage needs, and coordinates breaks for all Associates


• Addresses customer concerns and issues promptly, ensuring a positive customer experience


• Ensures Associates execute tasks and activities according to store plan; prioritizes as needed


• Communicates accurately and effectively with management and Associates when setting and addressing priorities; provides progress updates


• Provides and accepts recognition and constructive feedback


• Partners with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness


• Ensures adherence to all labor laws, policies, and procedures


• Promotes credit and loyalty programs


• Supports and participates in store shrink reduction goals and programs


• Promotes safety awareness and maintains a safe environment


• Other duties as assigned

Who We’re Looking For: You.

• Available to work flexible schedule, including nights and weekends


• Strong understanding of merchandising techniques


• Capable of multi-tasking


• Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail


• Able to respond appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations


• Team player, working effectively with peers and supervisors


• Able to train others


• 1 year retail and 6 months of leadership experience
