Job summary

Ace Hardware in Healdsburg, CA is seeking a part-time cashier/customer service associate. You will greet customers, assist with product recommendations, and process transactions at the POS while maintaining a clean store environment.

The role requires flexible hours including evenings and weekends, basic computer skills, and a willingness to learn about our products and promotions. Bi-lingual abilities are a plus and prior retail cashier experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Typing and computer literacy required.
• Bi-lingual a plus.
• Retail cashier experience preferred.
• Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and some holidays.
• Knowlege of retail computer systems a plus.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service by listening, identifying needs and responding with solutions and product recommendations.
• Process customer transactions accurately via point of sale system.
• Balance daily till and handle cash accurately.
• Maintain clean and organized merchandise presentation through facing product and basic housekeeping.
• Remain aware of promotions and advertisements.
• Greet customers entering the store and throughout their visit.
• Continuously learn about products and their uses.
• Encourage customers to open Ace Rewards cards and explain benefits.
• Represent the business positively as the first and last point of contact.
