Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a part-time Cashier to craft quality customer experiences in the checkout lane, delivering efficient, friendly service that leaves a positive impression on every Meijer customer.

You’ll use Meijer systems to process transactions, handle cash, and promote store promotions. The role requires weekend and holiday availability, plus a willingness to learn, stay organized, and help keep store operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older
• Enjoy working with people and providing great service
• Comfortable learning and using technology
• Listenwell, communicate clearly, and stay organized
• Dependable and detail-oriented; willing to help
• Retail or customer service experience is helpful but not required
• Able to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, twisting and standing for extended periods

Responsibilities

• Become knowledgeable on Meijer programs and promotions to best assist customers
• Create welcoming, memorable checkout experiences that leave a lasting impression
• Use Meijer systems to complete transactions efficiently and accurately
• Handle cash and payments responsibly, with attention to detail
• Communicate clearly and confidently, using friendly eye contact and positive body language
• Answer customer questions and help resolve concerns with care
• Build trust and connection that encourages customers to return
• Support other tasks as needed to keep operations running smoothly
