Job summary

Kroger is seeking a cashier/checker to deliver exceptional service in a fast-paced store environment in Ogden, Utah. You will greet customers, handle transactions accurately at the POS, and maintain a clean, safe area while following all company policies.

The role requires basic math skills, attentiveness to details, and the ability to work collaboratively with team members to assist customers and uphold high standards of service.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers to create an outstanding experience.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently at the check lane.
• Understand POS system and handle tenders including cash, checks, credit/debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons and checkout procedures.
• Adhere to cash handling limits, prevent loss and ensure accuracy in transactions.
• Follow guidelines for restricted items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs) and adhere to company policies.
• Report pricing discrepancies to Scan Coordinator; stay current with ads and promotions.
