Job summary

StaffHost digital is seeking a Customer Engineer / AI Engineer in New York to own the technical delivery of AI solutions for enterprise customers. You will build AI-powered workflows and applications, write Python, and integrate APIs to turn business needs into production-grade systems.

You’ll collaborate with Product and Engineering teams, communicate with senior stakeholders, and own projects from inception to production, all in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years in a technical customer-facing role such as Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Customer Engineer, Technical Consultant or similar.
• Experience delivering technical solutions for customers using APIs and integrations.
• Strong communication skills with senior technical stakeholders.
• Ability to own projects from start to finish and solve ambiguous problems.

Responsibilities

I’m currently working with a high-growth AI company building intelligent solutions for some of the world’s leading enterprises.

The business is growing rapidly and is now looking to add a Customer Engineer / AI Engineer to its New York team.

This is a highly technical role sitting at the intersection of AI, engineering and customer delivery. You’ll be responsible for taking complex customer requirements and turning them into production-ready AI solutions.

What You'll Be Doing

• Own the technical delivery of AI solutions from initial requirements through to production
• Build and configure AI-powered workflows and applications
• Write Python and work with APIs and integrations
• Test, troubleshoot and continuously improve AI systems
• Work directly with technical stakeholders at enterprise customers
• Translate business requirements into practical technical solutions
• Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams
• Help establish best practices around testing, reliability and AI performance

What They're Looking For

• 3–5+ years' experience in a technical customer-facing role such as Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Customer Engineer, Technical Consultant, Implementation Engineer or similar
• Comfortable working with APIs, integrations and production systems
• Experience delivering technical solutions for customers
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with senior technical stakeholders
• Someone who enjoys solving ambiguous problems and taking ownership from start to finish

Nice to Have

• Experience working with LLMs, Generative AI or AI agents
• Knowledge of prompting, evaluations, guardrails or AI workflows
• Experience integrating enterprise software or data platforms
• Experience working in a fast-moving startup or scale-up environment
• Strong product instinct and the ability to turn customer problems into technical solutions
