Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an enthusiastic team member to serve customers, stock shelves, and maintain plan-o-grams at our Youngstown-area store in Ohio. You will greet customers, locate merchandise, operate the cash register, and assist with stock replenishment and displays.

This role emphasizes accuracy, safety, and teamwork in a fast-paced retail environment. The position requires ability to lift and move merchandise, follow company policies, and provide friendly service.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes; store merchandise in stock room or move to sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays; stock and rotate merchandise on shelves.
• Restock recovered merchandise and assist customers in locating items.
• Greet customers and operate cash register to total purchases and bag items.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners as needed.
