Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Sales Associate to serve as the primary contact for customers, assist in locating and purchasing merchandise, operate the cash register, stock shelves, and maintain store cleanliness. The role supports profitability and asset protection while delivering a positive shopping experience.

Ideal candidates will have strong communication, basic math and cash handling skills, and the ability to follow planograms and merchandising guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow planograms and merchandise presentation guides.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform cash register functions.
• Ability to stock merchandise.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service, greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner to itemize and total customer purchases, collect payment, bag merchandise.
• Follow company merchandise processes; unpack, stock, restock, and rotate merchandise on shelves and build displays.
• Clean the store, take out trash, dust and mop floors, clean restrooms and receiving room, and help with sidewalk displays.
