Qualifications

Job Summary

The Customer Care Representative - Technical Support is responsible for assisting customers with technical issues related to products, services, software, applications, devices, and account access. This position combines customer care and technical troubleshooting skills to diagnose problems, provide clear solutions, document support interactions, and ensure customer issues are resolved efficiently and professionally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to customer technical support inquiries through phone, email, chat, and other support channels.

  • Serve as the first point of contact for customers experiencing technical difficulties.

  • Identify and troubleshoot common hardware, software, application, account, and connectivity issues.

  • Ask targeted questions to understand the customer's technical problem and determine the appropriate solution.

  • Guide customers through step-by-step troubleshooting procedures using clear, non-technical language.

  • Assist customers with product setup, configuration, installation, updates, and basic technical maintenance.

  • Troubleshoot common login, password, account access, Wi‑Fi, internet, email, browser, and application issues.

  • Assist customers with supported mobile devices, applications, websites, and online customer portals.

  • Verify customer identity, account information, device details, and other relevant information before providing support.

  • Create and maintain accurate technical support tickets and customer service cases.

  • Document customer concerns, troubleshooting steps, diagnostic results, solutions, and follow-up actions.

  • Use knowledge bases, troubleshooting guides, FAQs, and technical documentation to resolve customer issues.

  • Escalate complex or unresolved issues to Level 2/3 technical support or specialized departments.

  • Provide complete and accurate information when escalating technical cases.

  • Monitor open cases and follow up with customers regarding unresolved or escalated issues.

  • Communicate technical information clearly and professionally to customers with varying levels of technical knowledge.

  • Maintain current knowledge of products, services, applications, technical procedures, and known issues.

  • Identify recurring technical problems and report trends to supervisors and technical teams.

  • Provide customers with basic guidance regarding security, password protection, account safety, and safe technology practices.

  • Meet established service‑level agreements (SLAs), response times, resolution targets, quality standards, and customer satisfaction goals.

  • Protect customer credentials, personal information, and other confidential data.

  • Follow customer care, technical support, security, escalation, and quality assurance procedures.

  • Participate in technical training, coaching, call monitoring, and knowledge‑sharing activities.

  • Recommend improvements to troubleshooting procedures, support documentation, and customer experience processes.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field preferred.

  • 1-3 years of experience in technical support, customer service, help desk, call center, or a related role.

  • Basic understanding of computers, operating systems, applications, and network connectivity.

  • Strong technical troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong customer service and active listening skills.

  • Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical customers.

  • Ability to remain patient and professional when dealing with frustrated customers.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple support cases.

Preferred Qualifications
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar technical certification.

  • ITIL Foundation certification.

  • Experience with CRM and technical support platforms such as Salesforce, Zendesk, ServiceNow, Freshdesk, or similar systems.

  • Experience with remote support or remote desktop tools.

  • Knowledge of Windows, macOS, Microsoft 365, mobile operating systems, and common web browsers.

  • Basic knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi‑Fi, and VPN troubleshooting.

  • Experience supporting cloud‑based applications and services.

  • Experience maintaining and using technical knowledge bases.

  • Bilingual or multilingual communication skills where required.
